The New Generation of Biodegradable film- PGX
There is a great global demand for biodegradable plastic materials, current biodegradable materials such as PLA and PHA are rather expensive, we proposed to make biodegradable films with waste glycerol, which is a by-product of biodiesels, thus the biodegradable film we produce is rather cheap and has extremely high potential to replace existing plastic films.
Current R&D Status on PGX
WCC is working together with professors at National Tsing Hua University to develop the PGX film that has the mechanical properties compatible to PET. A pilot line will be built to provide PGX film for extensive testing in the near future.
